This is our first baseball season, and I'm already just about over it. We are in the middle of a stretch of 4 games in 6 days. The last one is tomorrow, then we don't have a game again until next week. I don't think I would mind it as much if Avery was a little more tolerant of the 90 minutes that it takes to play a game. She would much rather be at the playground that is within her sight but isn't allowed to go to, or if she would just be content to play with some of the other little sisters, but for the most part she just wants to run around and keep me from watching.
When Benjamin first played, they had him play catcher. The equipment they initially gave him was way too small and his knees were completely exposed when he squatted down. One of the boys on our teams father played for the Braves for several years and he was nice enough to bring Benjamin his own pads from when he played in the MLB. Elijah was SO jealous and told Benjamin he would never fully appreciate what he was wearing. He tried to explain to him that the equipment he was wearing was actually worn on the field that the Braves played on. I think he may have gotten it then, but it may be years before it really sinks in. Here he is wearing the equipment from Johnny Estrada.

Cake
Elijah, Avery and I went to this historic house in Fairburn for lunch the other day. It is a beautiful old home that was originally built in the early 1800's, but a 'new' home was built on the original foundation in 1910. It is now a restaurant that serves a buffet only...a very high end buffet. I think it was $18 each, one of Elijah's coworkers treated us. It's called The Green Manor. The house is gorgeous, people use it for events and weddings. Here's the link: http://greenmanor.biz/history.htm Everything is homemade on the bar. Ribs, fried chicken, and any side you would think would be in a great restaurant in Georgia. They may have had a salad bar, but I never went! Avery wanted cake desperately, and so we told her if she ate her green beans (which even I ate they were so good) then she could have some cake. The last thing I asked is if it was worth it, and even though my cell video time ran out, she said it really was!

Coloring Eggs
This will be short and sweet, I have tons to do before we hit the road tomorrow. Avery got to color eggs at playgroup last week. She had a blast, but as all 3 year olds do, the girls all lost interest so we moms took over and really enjoyed ourselves. I had to literally catch Avery and have her pose with the one egg she did on her own.

Baby Jesus....she's a girl.

After I took her picture she went running out of the room and came back with a babydoll, but was upset that she couldn't hold the doll and the blanket under her chin, so she had me tie it:

So we talked about baby Jesus for a few minutes and I apparently made the horrid mistake of referring to her baby Jesus as a he, because the same look mentioned earlier came rushing back as she said "MY baby Jesus is a GIRL."
